Accra Lions technical director Ibrahim Tanko is not impressed with some happenings in the Ghana Premier League.
The former Black Stars assistant warned that other coaches won’t offer services if the Ghana Football Association doesn’t step in.
“We want to come and coach but if you see what is happening behind the scenes in the various stadia, I don’t think any serious guy would want to come and coach in Ghana if we don’t do our things well,” Ibrahim Tanko told TV3.
He added, “I remember when we went to Eleven Wonders what we saw there was nothing to write home about. We hope that the FA will clean the system so that football will go up.”
Accra Lions were beaten 3-0 by Hearts of Oak on Friday, with Tanko blaming the players for defeat.
“It’s very unfortunate we started very well and after 10 minutes our players just drew back which was not good,” Tanko said after the game.
“I think my players gave Hearts of Oak a lot of respect which wasn’t supposed to be happening. They played the first round, saw how the league is so I expected them to play more and shouldn’t respect anyone on the pitch. It’s very unfortunate that we lost but we will go back and prepare for the next match.”
“And also, the red card that we received, it was very stupid from our players excuse me to say. So that’s what changed the game.”
Accra Lions face Real Tamale United in their next game.
