“First of many” – Bruno Fernandes to Kobbie Mainoo after his England debut

English-born Ghanaian midfielder Kobbie Mainoo made his international football debut for England on Saturday against Brazil by coming on for the final 15 minutes at Wembley Stadium.

But the 18-year-old has not made any real impact but there were glimpses of what he has been doing for Manchester United all season.

Mainoo took to social media to express how much marking his debut in front of his family meant to him.

“Special feeling making my senior England debut at Wembley and in front of my family,” he wrote on Instagram.

“A moment I will never forget. Now we bounce back and refocus for Tuesday.”

His club captain Bruno Fernandes was one of the many players to comment underneath Kobbie’s post with his support for the youngster.

He made a prediction, that Arsenal star Declan Rice also seconded.
