Al Ahli have rejected reports suggesting Firas Al-Buraikan can leave the club by activating a specific release clause, confirming that the Saudi Arabia international remains part of their plans for the coming years.
The speculation had caused concern among Al Ahli supporters, with Al-Buraikan regarded as one of the team’s key attacking players. His ability to operate in more than one position has made him an important member of the squad, particularly as the club seeks to maintain its core after the departures of several prominent names in recent times.
According to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah, Al Ahli’s management is determined to keep Al-Buraikan and considers him a central figure in the club’s long-term project. The club has no intention of allowing the forward to leave, the report said.
Al-Riyadiyah also stated that Al-Buraikan’s contract does not contain a clause allowing him to depart for a predetermined fee. That directly contradicts reports circulated over the past few days which suggested he could leave Al Ahli relatively easily if another club met the alleged amount.
The 25-year-old is therefore expected to remain at Al Ahli until his current contract expires in the summer of 2028. The club’s management and coaching staff are understood to have strong confidence in his ability and view him as one of the principal players on whom the team will rely during the next stage.
The rumours had emerged against the backdrop of continued attention on Al Ahli’s squad planning. With a number of notable players having departed recently, supporters had been concerned that further disruption could affect the team’s attacking options.
