Helsingborgs IF head coach Stevie Grieve has confirmed that Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Asoma is attracting interest from Finland during the current transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who signed a four-year contract in 2024 after arriving from Västerås SK, could be on the move as the Swedish side weigh up a profitable deal before the new season.

Club officials are understood to be open to negotiations as they look to maximise value from the player’s potential departure.

Grieve disclosed that formal contact has already been made.

”We have received an offer from a team in Finland,” the Scottish gaffer said of the bid for the Ghana-prospect midfielder to his club’s official website.

He added; ”We are at a stage where he has to make a decision, if he wants to accept the offer. I felt that the best thing was to take him off training today and the game tomorrow, so that he can focus on his decision. There are a couple of teams that are interested and there is a concrete proposal.”

The midfielder has consequently been excused from team activities to consider his options carefully.

Asoma featured 28 times for Helsingborgs during the 2024-25 campaign, establishing himself as a regular presence in midfield.

Born in Berekum and raised partly in Belgium, he previously represented Belgian youth sides.
