FC Samartex have paid a visit to the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House ahead of their CAF Champions League campaign.
The Ghana Premier League winners visited the President to seek for financial support and “blessings” as they prepare for the task ahead.
The Club’s CEO Mr. Richard Nsenkyire spoke on behalf of the team on Wednesday afternoon.
“We want to seek your blessing by showing you the cup. Over the years, what we have realized is the teams that go to Africa lack financial support.”
“They would have really done well or gone to the advanced stages but unfortunately finances have become a problem and we are appealing to you that we are representing Ghana and we need your support Mr. President to make sure that we can excel in the CAF Championship, that is why we are here.” Mr. Nsenkyire stated.
The Timbers will face Cameroonian champions Victoria United in the preliminary stages of CAF Champions League competition.
