FC Koln, the Bundesliga side commences its new training week without the presence of young German-born Ghanaian talent, Justin Diehl.
The absence follows Diehl’s unfortunate spell of illness, which saw him miss the last Bundesliga clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The club, in an official statement, has confirmed that Diehl will be kept away from training exercises at the beginning of the week, emphasizing the need for his recovery.
The rising star’s ailment dealt a blow to FC Koln in their recent encounter, and his prolonged absence from training adds an element of uncertainty to the team’s preparations for the upcoming game against TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday afternoon.
The 19-year-old offensive player showcased his skills in FC Köln’s recent draw against Wolfsburg on January 27th.
In the game against Wolfsburg, Faride Alidou scored the first goal for FC Koln with a header from the centre of the box to the top left corner following a set piece situation in the 38th minute.
Justin Diehl came on in the 76th minute to replace Dejan Ljubicic.
Kevin Paredes scored the equalizer with a left footed shot from very close range to the centre of the goal. Paredes goal was assisted by Joakim Mæhle.
