Dreams FC were thumped 4-1 by ruthless Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the Ghana Premier League- a win which sends Kotoko two points behind league leaders Bibiani GoldStars.
Kotoko fell further behind in the title race after they were held to a goalless draw by sworn rivals Hearts of Oak in their last league outing.
That insipid display was nothing compared to Sunday’s as Albert Amoah opened the scoring for the hosts with a close range finish inside 16 minutes.
Kotoko increased their advantage five minutes before the break when Kwame Opoku finished off a lovely team move.
Dreams FC halved the deficit after the recess through Jonathan Nemorden.
Nemorden’s goal proved a mere consolation as Opoku bagged his brace in the 56th minute before Fernando Bassey wrapped up the victory for Kotoko with an emphatic strike with 15 minutes to go.
Kotoko are still in the title conversation with three games to go, including a winner-takes all affair with GoldStars next weekend in Bibiani.
