Cameroon got their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign off to a winning start, beating Gabon 1-0 in Group C action.
The only goal of the match came in the 27th minute, when Karl Etta Eyong headed home a precise cross from Bryan Mbeumo.
The Indomitable Lions dominated possession and created several chances, but Gabon’s defense held firm until the decisive moment.
Mbeumo’s assist was crucial in breaking the deadlock, showcasing his skill and vision on the left flank.
Cameroon will look to build on this win when they face Guinea on January 19, while Gabon will be looking to bounce back against Gambia on the same day.
