Salifu Ibrahim is set to depart Hearts of Oak SC after refusing to sign a new contract with the club, kickoffghana can exclusively report.

His request to leave comes ahead of the highly anticipated Democracy Cup match against Asante Kotoko SC, where he will not feature for Hearts of Oak.

Ibrahim’s contract with Hearts of Oak is set to expire on June 30, 2024, marking the end of his three-year stint with the club.

He joined Hearts of Oak in 2021 from Techiman Eleven Wonders but struggled with injuries, limiting his playing time.

The talented winger had a remarkable 2020-21 season, earning him the Ghana Premier League Player of the Season award.

He also received a call-up to the Ghana national football team for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé and Príncipe.

Salifu Ibrahim joins a list of talented players who have left Hearts of Oak as free agents, including Thomas Abbey, Atinga Vincent, and Wilfred Cobbinah.
