Everton eye potential deal for Emmanuel Dennis after Richarlison sale

Everton eye Emmanuel Dennis swoop as Toffees look for Richarlison replacement

Everton have been left reeling by the unwanted sale of star Brazilian forward Richarlison to Tottenham, after the 25-year-old officially sealed his move to north London earlier today.

The Toffees received £60 million for the attacker but must now contend with the reality of finding a suitable replacement in the market and have reportedly turned their attention toward Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis.

Per reports from the Evening Standard’s Simon Collins, Dennis is one of the leading targets for Everton who, despite their financial struggles, will try to source affordable solutions to make sure that boss Frank Lampard can guide the club on an upward trajectory in the 2022-23 Premier League season.

Dennis, 24, has spent just one season at Vicarage Road after his arrival from Belgian giants Club Brugge last summer in a deal worth just £3.5 million, but Watford certainly got their money’s worth from the Nigerian international forward.

The Abuja-native hit 10-goals in his only Premier League season at the club while also adding a further 6-assists to his tally, offering a player profile that could certainly suit Everton as they look to replace not only Richarlison’s goals but his influence on and off the ball as well.

With Watford failing to avoid the drop last season and now back down in the Championship, a return to the top flight of English football with Everton could prove to be too big an opportunity to miss for Dennis, who was one of the few shining lights last term for the Hornets.
