HOPE! Burnley improved their chances of avoiding the axe following a 2-0 victory over visiting Southampton on Thursday night.
It was Burnley’s fifth win this season thanks to goals from Connor Roberts and Nathan Collins to move within one point of safety, though 17th-place Everton has played one less game.
Mike Jackson, the U23 coach was leading the club as a caretaker coach after Sean Dyche was shown the door last Friday. He has now recorded four points in two games following a 1-1 draw against West Ham, his first match in charge.
Southampton, in 13th place, has won just three of 16 away league games this season.
