Black Stars midfielder & Vice captain of Auxerre, Elisha Owusu has penned a contract extension with the French outfit until 2027.
The midfielder agreed to a contract extension on Wednesday, after helping Auxerre gain promotion back to the French top tier following a grueling 2023/24 campaign.
Owusu, who plays with Gideon Mensah at Auxerre, made 30 starts for his club, averaging a 1.1 interception and 1.9 tackles per game.
The 26-year old’s contract was set to expire next summer, but has decided to commit his short term future to the club, aiding them back to the top flight since the 2022/23 season.
Owusu helped the Black Stars secure back-to-back World Cup qualifying victories against Mali and the Central African Republic, with effective cameo appearances to help see out both games.
