Eintracht Frankfurt will face Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup in Helsinki.
The German club won the Europa League crown following a 1-0 win over Scottish giants Rangers in a flash played in Seville.
The win guaranteed them a spot in the Champions League next season.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, won their 14th Champions League crown on Saturday night after beating Liverpool 1-0 at the Stade de France.
It will be Eintracht’s first appearance in the UEFA Super Cup, with the spot going to the winners of the now-defunct UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup when Frankfurt won the 1979/80 UEFA Cup.
Oliver Glasner’s side can become the second German team to win the Super Cup – after Bayern (2013, 2020) if they can get the better of Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
The traditional continental curtain-raiser for the new season will take place at Finland’s Helsinki Olympic Stadium and will see the country host its first UEFA club competition final.
