Egypt have finished Group B winners at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, claiming seven points after a 0-0 draw with Angola on Monday.
With qualification already sealed, coach Hossam Hassan rotated his squad, resting stars Mohamed Salah, Trezeguet, and Omar Marmoush, while a new-look eleven held firm at the back.
Angola controlled possession at times and produced moments of skill, but they could not breach Egypt’s resolute defence, and the match ended goalless.
The draw confirms Angola’s exit from AFCON 2025, while Egypt advance to the Round of 16 as Group B winners. South Africa, finishing second with six points, also progress to the knockout stage.
