Edwin Gyimah nominated for top award in South Africa

Ghana International Edwin Gyimah has been nominated for the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament award in South Africa.

The Sekhukhune United defender has been immense in the club’s run in the Nedbank Cup which has seen them progress to the final.

Gyimah grabbed the headlines with some wild celebrations after his side edged out Kaizer Chiefs in the semi-finals on penalties.

The former Black Stars player faces stiff competition from Miguel Timm (Orlando Pirates) and Iqraam Rayners (Stellenbosch) for the award.

The Premier Soccer League released the names of the nominees for their annual end-of-season awards on Thursday.
