Early Man United news ahead of Norwich test

Manchester United could miss the services of up to five players when they host Norwich City in a Premier League clash on Saturday.

Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, and Scott McTominay all missed the clash against Everton last weekend and were not in training this week.

The trio joined Edinson Cavani on the sidelines, and they all remain a doubt for the match at Old Trafford.

Fred, who was withdrawn at Goodison Park due to a hip issue, must also be considered a doubt.

There’s good news though as Cristiano Ronaldo, the club’s current top-scorer, is available for the match.

The Portuguese suffered knocks during United’s clash at Everton but looked sharp in training this week.

Norwich team news

There are doubts over Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour, who was out due to illness.

Brandon Williams, on loan from United, is definitely out of the match as he can’t face his parent club.

Josh Sargent looks likely to be available after concerns over his ankle and Przemyslaw Placheta should also be back.

Ozan Kabak and Adam Idah are long-term absentees and are expected to miss the remainder of the campaign.

Norwich will hope to cause an upset at Old Trafford to keep their survival hopes alive after a 2-0 win over Burnley last time out.
