The revamped Division One League Super Cup Committee has held its first meeting as preparations officially get underway for the 2026 edition of the annual pre-season tournament.

The session, held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the GFA Boardroom, marked the first under newly appointed chairman Rabeh El-Eter.

Committee members Mohammed Alhassan, Samuel Arbuah and Abdul Rahman Yakubu joined the chairman to discuss major planning items, with support from Competitions Department representative Maxwell Casar Kemeh and Communications Department officer Abdul Kadir Tophic.

One of the key issues on the table was the selection of a host venue for next year’s tournament.

Several locations across the country are under consideration, with emphasis on facilities that can accommodate clubs, fans and broadcast partners.

A final decision will be made after further consultation with stakeholders.

The committee also explored potential dates for kickoff, aiming to place the 2026 Super Cup in a window that aligns with the broader domestic calendar while giving participating Division One League clubs enough time to prepare.

The 2026 Super Cup will once again serve as a key warm-up event for top-performing Division One League clubs ahead of the new season.
