Details revealed as Liverpool strike contract agreement with Darwin Nunez

An insight into the financial terms of a contract understood to have been agreed upon between Benfica star Darwin Nunez and Premier League giants Liverpool has been provided on Thursday evening.

The info comes by way of Portuguese transfer expert Pedro Sepulveda.

Nunez, of course, has been hotly tipped to make the move to Anfield of late, with recent days in particular having seen speculation surrounding a potential transfer move up a notch.

And now, it appears as though the transfer team at Anfield have taken a major step forward in their efforts to push a deal for the Uruguayan international over the line.

This comes with the Reds understood to have struck an agreement with Nunez himself, over the terms of a five-year contract.

The deal would see the talented hitman take home a sum of around €6 million-per-year, for a total of €30 million across the duration of his time on Merseyside.

Mane replacement

For those not aware, Liverpool’s interest in Nunez comes with the 22-year-old fresh off the back of a scintillating campaign in Portugal.

All told, in 40 appearances across all competitions, the Benfica standout racked up a head-turning 32 goals and four assists, including strikes in both legs of the Aguias’ Champions League quarter-final tie with none other than Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

With Sadio Mane inching ever closer to the exit door on the red half of Merseyside, Nunez has therefore been identified as a replacement-of-sorts for the Senegalese, as the those in a position of power at Liverpool continue to work diligently towards providing Klopp with all of the tools required to battle it out on all fronts for seasons to come.
