Black Stars debutant Derrick Kohn has expressed his pride after joining Ghana’s camp for the first time ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Hamburg left-back, born in Germany but eligible for Ghana, trained with the squad on Monday as preparations began for the double-header against Chad and Mali.
“Hello Ghana. Just finished training with the guys. My first training for Ghana, I am very proud and I am happy with these guys,” Kohn said after Monday’s session.
“We are now going to the hotel, shower and fly to Chad,” he added.
Kohn is expected to make his debut against Chad on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Stade Olympique Idriss Deby in N’Djamena.
Ghana currently tops Group I with 15 points after six games, three points ahead of Comoros. A win against bottom-placed Chad would edge the Black Stars closer to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
