Ghanaian left-back Derrick Köhn demonstrated his prowess, contributing significantly to Hannover 96’s hard-fought victory over Hansa Rostock in the 20th round of the Bundesliga 2 at the Heinz-von-Heiden-Arena on Saturday.

The 25-year-old’s crucial assist played a pivotal role in securing the win for his team.

Throughout the season, Köhn has exhibited his multifaceted skills, amassing three goals and five assists in 20 matches within the German second tier.

In this particular match, the hosts took an early lead with an own goal by Kevin Schumacher just four minutes into the game.

However, FC Hansa Rostock responded with determination, as Kai Pröger leveled the score with a right-footed shot from the left side of the six-yard box to the center of the goal. The match remained tightly contested until the late stages.

With only 12 minutes remaining, Marcel Halstenberg emerged as the hero for Hannover 96, netting the decisive goal with a header from the left side of the six-yard box to the bottom left corner.

This winning moment was orchestrated by Derrick Köhn, whose well-timed cross, following a corner kick, set up the opportunity for Halstenberg’s crucial header.
