Union Berlin left-back Derrick Kohn is already counting down to Ghana’s international friendly against Germany scheduled for March, a key part of the Black Stars’ build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
For the recently capped defender, the fixture carries added emotional weight, having been born and raised in Germany despite his Ghanaian roots.
Kohn believes the match presents a rare opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces while representing his country of heritage on a major stage.
The 26-year-old revealed that excitement around the game has been growing rapidly among his circle in Germany.
“I can’t wait [friendly against Germany]. I was texting already the team manager of Black Stars, if I’m in the squad, please I need 100 tickets. I need a lot of tickets.”
“The whole Germany is texting me like, please, if you can make it happen, we’re going to come. But I know when I’m there, for sure I knew the German guys will come and I want to show them that Ghana is there.”
As Ghana intensifies preparations for the World Cup qualifiers, the March encounter is expected to help strengthen team chemistry and test the squad against elite opposition.
