Ghanaian goalkeeper Joseph Anang has set sights on helping Derby County secure promotion to the English Championship.
Anang joined the English Football League One side on a season-long loan from West Ham United.
The 22-year-old’s move to Derby came after West Ham recalled the 22-year-old from his loan deal with St Patrick’s Athletic.
“I just want to get some games and help the team get back to the Championship because they are a Championship team,” he told Derbyshire Live. “It’s a massive step up. They had 27,000 fans at the game on Saturday which is crazy. The fans are loud and the numbers are high.
“We all know how massive this club is. They are a top Championship club and the style of play is very attractive. I watched them in a friendly against Hertha Berlin and I really liked it. In these first few league games gone ‘bam, bam, bam’ so happy days.”
Anang, who is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Hammers, spent time on loan at Stevenage in League Two last season before going on to join St Patrick’s.
He made 30 appearances and kept 12 clean sheet during his time with the Saints.
