The second edition of the Democracy Cup will no longer be staged at the Accra Sports Stadium as initially announced.
Parliament, organizers of the event, confirmed on Thursday, August 21, that the game has been shifted to the University of Ghana Stadium with a new date of September 5.
This year’s showpiece will once again pit Accra rivals Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics against each other in what promises to be a thrilling contest.
The fixture was originally slated for August 29 at the Accra Sports Stadium but has now been rescheduled.
The Democracy Cup, championed by Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, is designed to highlight the importance of democracy and unity through football.
The maiden edition was held last year, where Kumasi Asante Kotoko defeated Hearts of Oak to lift the trophy.
