Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey is confident his team will upset arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in the highly anticipated Democracy Cup match on Wednesday.

The Phobians will engage Kotoko in the inaugural fixture put up by Parliamentarians at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 17, 2024.

Despite Kotoko’s recent victories over Hearts in the Ghana Premier League, Asibey remains optimistic about his team’s chances.

“There is nothing like a friendly in matches involving Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko. It’s a Cup game between Hearts and Kotoko; definitely, there will be tension. Both teams are preparing to win the game on Wednesday. We are not taking the game lightly,” Asibey said in an interview with Kessben Tv.

The aim of Democracy Cup match is to commemorate 30 years of democratic governance in Ghana.
