Danish-born Ghanaian center-back, Jonas Jensen-Abbew, has officially signed a five-year deal with Danish Superliga side Aarhus GF, according to an announcement by the club.
The 21-year-old defender makes the switch from fellow top division competitors FC Nordsjaelland, and his arrival is anticipated during the team’s training camp in Spain.
A statement from the club highlighted the signing, stating, “A new face will soon join the SL squad at the training camp in Spain in the form of 21-year-old defender Jonas Jensen-Abbew, who joins us from FC Nordsjælland on a five-year deal.”
Sport director Stig Inge Björnebye praised the qualities of the Ghanaian prospect, expressing confidence in Jensen-Abbew’s ability to integrate seamlessly into their defensive system.
“We have been looking for an opportunity to strengthen our squad and width in defence. We have found that in Jonas Jensen-Abbew, who is a talented young central defender with a lot of development potential.
“We believe this can unfold in AGF and in our training environment, where he will join a squad with experienced and skilled defenders.”
