Crystal Palace are ready to agree a new deal for Michael Olise, less than 12 months after he joined the club, in order to remove the release clause in his initial deal, it has been reported.
The 20-year-old only joined Crystal Palace this summer, with the South London side triggering his £8m release clause while he was at Reading, and has enjoyed a strong breakout season in the Premier League for the Eagles, grabbing 7 goal involvements in 26 top-flight appearances thus far, helping Patrick Vieira’s side punch well above their weight this campaign.

As a result, he has undoubtedly caught the eye of top clubs across Europe, and he was reported to have a £35m release clause in his Palace contract from his initial deal, something that Steve Parish and Vieira are looking to change.
Palace looking for record sale
Now, as per the reliable David Ornstein of the Athletic, the London side are close to agreeing a new deal with their prodigious talent, which will add another year to his contract but not increase his wages.
However, it will raise the release clause from its current amount to well over £50m, to ensure that should he depart, his sale will become a record deal for the Eagles, more than the amount that they raised by offloading Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United in 2019.
? EXCL: Crystal Palace in talks with Michael Olise over new contract. Agreement close. Extra year likely but no salary increase. Aim is to raise release clause (£35m) to ensure future sale breaks #CPFC record (£50m) & that would benefit all @TheAthleticUK https://t.co/tx8kUxjLkF

The news will come as a major blow to anyone lining up a cheap addition this summer.
