Criticisms make me better – Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara after win over Heart of Lions

Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara has admitted that criticisms from sports journalists make him a better gaffer.

His remarks come after the Phobians hard fought 2-1 win over Heart of Lions on Monday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Linda Mtange and Salim Adams scored for Hearts of Oak in the second half after the Rainbow Club conceded a Mustapha Yakubu free kick in the first half.

Addressing the reason for playing Adams in a more advanced role, coach Ouattara said, “Sometimes I listen to the journalists. I listen and I take decisions because the criticism is good for me I need more criticism to make changes that is why I put this boy (Adams) today in the front.”

Hearts of Oak have moved to seventh place in the standings level on points (32) with arch-rival Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Hearts of Oak take on league leaders FC Samartex next on Friday, March 22 at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex and will hope to continue their winning run.
