Cristiano Ronaldo outlines Manchester United demands amid pre-season no-show

Cristiano Ronaldo has outlined his demands to Manchester United as the forward’s future continues to be called into question.

Following what was a dismal season for Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo, who has one year left on his current contract, has been heavily linked with a United exit of late.

Ronaldo joined Manchester United for a second time last summer, leaving Serie A giants, Juventus.

The Portuguese has since endured a mixed stint in Manchester. The legendary hitman scored 18 in 30 league ties last term and netted six in the Champions League.

However, whilst Ronaldo continued to shine at aged 37, Manchester United as a club experienced one of the worst seasons in their storied history.

The Red Devils finished 6th in the Premier League, were knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship side Middlesbrough and performed poorly in the Champions League yet again.

Now, on Monday, Ronaldo’s future has been called further into question when it was reported that the Portuguese did not turn up to what was supposed to be his first day of pre-season training due to ‘family reasons’.

On the back of this, Fabrizio Romano has outlined what Ronaldo wants to stay at Manchester United:

“Cristiano Ronaldo wants to see more ambition from Man United,” Romano wrote. “He didn’t mention specific signing names, but he believes that, having reinforced Man City, Liverpool but also Arsenal and Tottenham with top-level players, Man United need at least 3-4 important players as soon as possible.

“Ronaldo admires and appreciates new manager Erik ten Hag, but he believes the problem is the level of the playing squad at Old Trafford.”
