Christiana Ashiaku crowned top scorer in WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup

Black Maidens attacker Christiana Ashiaku has been named the top scorer of the inaugural WAFU Zone B U17 Girls Cup following an impressive performance that earned her the Golden Boot award, with six goals in four matches.

Ashiaku’s standout moments include scoring a hat-trick against Benin in the opening game and repeating the feat against Côte d’Ivoire in the semi-final. Her goals secured Ghana’s spot in the final against Nigeria. Notably, Ashiaku also excelled in the CAF U15 School Championship, captaining the team and scoring four goals in four matches to emerge top scorer.

The Black Maidens’ victory in the WAFU U17 Girls Cup was sealed with a thrilling 5-4 penalty shootout win against Nigeria’s Flamingos.

Ashiaku’s teammate, Latifa Musah, was adjudged Player of the Tournament, while Nigeria’s goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma won the Golden Glove award.
