Raheem Sterling is officially the newest arrival at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea opened their transfer account this summer with a move for the 27-year-old England star.
Chelsea shelled out just shy of £50million for Sterling as the Blues looked to add reinforcements up front after the departure of Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian headed back to Inter Milan, but the move for Sterling was just the first of a string of expected transfers that cold rapidly take shape over the next few days.
Per reports in The Guardian, Chelsea is set to rapidly improve their back line under boss Thomas Tuchel as they near a completed deal for Senegalese star Kalidou Koulibaly.

With the Blues expected to add the 31-year-old center-back as one of the replacements for outgoing duo Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen after agreeing to a deal for the Senegalese subject to a completed medical, Chelsea is also targeting two additional center-back’s in Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe and Man City’s Nathan Aké.
Chelsea is on the heels of Kimpembe after PSG are open to letting the French international if their valuation is met but the Blues could be made to clash with Juventus over the 26-year-old after the Serie A giants have also expressed interest per reports from The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
Nathan Aké is also high on the priority list for Thomas Tuchel and the club’s new ownership structure under Todd Boehly, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that Aké – along with Kimpembe – are prime targets as the Premier League giants missed out on a move for Dutch star Matthijs de Ligt, who is close to sealing a move to German juggernaut Bayern Munich.
Should the Blues complete all three deals, Tuchel will have a cadre of center-back options along with Thiago Silva as well as club academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah, with a three-at-the-back deployment sure to remain in west London.
