The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that Charles Sampson will no longer serve as assistant coach of the Black Queens. Instead, he will now dedicate his full attention to leading the Black Princesses, Ghana’s U-20 women’s national team.

The decision, which takes immediate effect, is part of the GFA’s wider effort to streamline its technical teams and ensure coaches can focus fully on their core responsibilities.

According to the Association, the move is aimed at preventing scheduling conflicts and enhancing performance across all levels of national team football.

Sampson has been juggling dual roles; supporting the Black Queens while managing the Princesses but will now concentrate solely on preparing the U-20 side for the upcoming 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World C.up in Colombia

Under his guidance, the Black Princesses secured qualification for the World Cup with a solid campaign, and the GFA is confident that his full-time leadership will further strengthen the team’s chances on the global stage.
