Caleb Amankwah and Amos Acheampong have been included in the Black Galaxies of Ghana’s final squad for the Algeria 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN).
The two were left behind when the team left the shores of Ghana for a pre-tournament training camp on Christmas Eve.
Head coach Annor Walker later revealed that it was Hearts of Oak who blocked Amankwah (after receiving a late call-up) and teammate Suraj Seidu from being part of the team as the Phobians needed them for the Ghana Premier League which was not going to go on break for the CHAN.
Hearts eventually permitted Suraj to join the Galaxies after it emerged that there was a need to replace Evans Osei Wusu and Bright Adjei.
Quite surprisingly, the names of Amankwah and Acheampong of Great Olympics have appeared in the final squad of 27 players for the CHAN, as per a release by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) on Wednesday.
Per the Caf release, Amankwah and Acheampong have been designated Number 27 and 28 shirts respectively.
