Defending Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies have taken a commanding lead in the Northern Zone of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

Joe Nana Adarkwa’s side are level on 15 points with second placed Northern Ladies despite having two games in hand.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies missed the opening phase of the season due to their participation in the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Cote D’Ivoire.

The League Champions who are chasing a record fourth straight crown in the Northern Zone have won all five games since their return from Côte D’Ivoire – where they finished fourth after losing to AS FAR in the third place playoffs.

Their last game in the Zone was a 2-1 win over Pearlpia Ladies on Saturday.
