Central Region remain top of Group A after Matchday Two of the Elite U17 Girls Championship, despite suffering a 3-0 defeat on penalties against Brong Ahafo.
The defending champions were beaten by Brong Ahafo in their second game of the competition, but the result did not prevent them from retaining first place in Group A. Their position at the summit remains the main outcome from the latest round of matches.
Greater Accra Region have moved up to second in Group A after recording their first victory of Matchday Two. The result strengthened their position behind the leaders as the group standings were updated following the second round of fixtures.
The competition is being played in Prampram, with the Elite U17 Girls Championship continuing to take shape after two matchdays. Central Region’s place at the top means they remain the side to catch in Group A, while Greater Accra Region have established themselves as the closest challengers currently listed in the group.
In Group B, Ashanti Region maintained their unbeaten start and remain top of the section with six points. Their results across the opening two matchdays have given them a strong position in the early standings.
Northern Region are also on six points and sit closely behind Ashanti Region. The two sides have therefore emerged as the leading teams in Group B after Matchday Two, with both yet to lose.
At the bottom of Group B, Upper West Region, Volta Region and the GFA Elite Academy are still without a win. None of the three teams has taken maximum points after the opening two matchdays, leaving them behind Ashanti Region and Northern Region in the current standings.
The latest table reflects the results recorded during Matchday Two of the ongoing Elite U17 Girls Championship. Central Region continue to lead Group A, although their penalty defeat by Brong Ahafo has provided a notable result from the round.
Greater Accra Region’s first win has put them second in the same group, while Ashanti Region and Northern Region share the leading positions in Group B with six points each. Upper West Region, Volta Region and the GFA Elite Academy remain at the foot of Group B without a victory.
The championship now moves forward with Central Region still holding the Group A advantage and Ashanti Region continuing their unbeaten run at the head of Group B.
