Accra Hearts of Oak is celebrating its 114th anniversary today, November 11, 2025.
Founded in 1911, the club is Ghana’s oldest surviving football club and one of the most successful in the country’s history.
Hearts of Oak has won numerous titles, including 21 Ghana Premier League championships, 12 FA Cup trophies, and one CAF Champions League title in 2000.
The club, nicknamed “Phobians” or “The Continental Club Masters,” has a rich legacy and has produced many talented players who have gone on to represent Ghana and other African countries.
Hearts of Oak is known for its passionate fanbase and stylish, attacking brand of football.
The club is currently led by Chairman Togbe Afede XIV and is focused on reclaiming its position as one of the top teams in Ghanaian football.
Currently in sixth position with 16 points – 3 points off the top of the league – Hearts will be looking to win their first league title in about 5 seasons.
