Ghana’s Black Queens were beaten 1-0 by Cameroon in their second Group C match at the 2026 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, leaving their hopes of reaching the knockout stage to be decided in their final fixture.
Ghana made a positive start to Sunday’s match and enjoyed periods of possession as they looked to establish control. However, Cameroon broke the deadlock in the first half after being awarded a penalty, which they converted to move in front.

Cameroon ultimately held on to secure all three points, while Ghana were left to reflect on a narrow defeat in a match in which they had shown attacking intent after half-time.
The result means the Black Queens still have everything to play for in their final Group C fixture. Their next match will determine whether they can secure a place in the knockout stage of the competition.
