Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani Gold Stars, Akwasi Adu says it is unfair for the fans to call for the sacking of head coach Michael Osei.
The former Asante Kotoko has come under intense pressure following an unimpressive results in recent games.
Goldstars have won 2, drawn 5 and lost 2 of the nine games so far. The Miners have struggled to picked maximum points in the four games played on home turf.
The club faithful appears not to be happy with the performance of Michael Osei in the ongoing Ghanaian top-flight as a section of the fans are calling for the sacking of the trainer.
But Akwasi Adu in an interview has opposed the fans demands whiles urging themto be patient with the coach.
“We have not officially gotten information from the supporters’ union but if they have such thoughts, I will tell them to exercise some patience. It’s unfair for the fans to have such thought because he is not a stranger to us. He has been with us since we gain promotion to the Premier League and has performed”
“In football, if you are not patient and act on feelings to sack people all the time, you won’t get stability. We are in our third season; you don’t have to sack the coach when you lose or draw a game.”
Michael Osei has been in charge of Gold Stars since they joined the top flight. He guided them to a 10th place finish in their debut season and they ended last season in 5th position.
Gold Stars are currently in 9th position on the league standings with 11 points. Their next match is away to league leaders, Aduana FC.
