Caleb Yirenkyi’s proposed move to Strasbourg has stalled after FC Nordsjaelland set an asking price of €25 million for the Ghanaian midfielder.

Talks between the Danish club and the French Ligue 1 side are currently at a standstill, with the valuation creating a significant obstacle to any agreement. FC Nordsjaelland believe Yirenkyi is one of their most valuable players and are not prepared to reduce their demands at this stage.

Strasbourg remain interested in signing the midfielder, but must now decide whether to meet the €25 million fee or continue discussions in the hope of reaching a compromise. For the moment, the two clubs remain apart in their assessment of Yirenkyi’s value.

The 25-year-old’s performances for FC Nordsjaelland have helped establish him as one of the club’s leading assets. His consistent displays at club level, together with his contributions on the international stage, have brought him widespread recognition and attracted interest from clubs across Europe.

FC Nordsjaelland are understood to regard Yirenkyi as a player with considerable long-term potential, a view reflected in the size of their asking price. The Danish side are reportedly unwilling to compromise on their valuation, despite Strasbourg’s continued interest in taking the midfielder to France.

A move to Ligue 1 remains possible, although the transfer is now dependent on whether the clubs can narrow the gap between their respective positions. Strasbourg will have to weigh up the cost of completing the deal against the prospect of prolonging negotiations in search of more favourable terms.

Yirenkyi’s rise has been rapid. His regular high-level performances have increased his profile beyond Denmark and made him an increasingly sought-after player in the European market. That growing interest has also strengthened FC Nordsjaelland’s belief that the midfielder commands a substantial fee.

No agreement has been reached, and the transfer remains in limbo while both clubs attempt to resolve the dispute over the valuation. Discussions are expected to continue, with the coming days likely to determine whether Yirenkyi completes his proposed move to Strasbourg or the deal collapses.

For now, the €25 million demand remains the central issue. Strasbourg must either match FC Nordsjaelland’s price or find a different arrangement if they are to secure the Ghana international’s signature.
