Ghana forward Prince Amoako Junior has dismissed suggestions that Caleb Yirenkyi’s growing reputation has gone to his head, insisting the midfielder remains grounded and firmly focused on pushing his career to the next level.
Speaking from inside the FC Nordsjaelland camp, Amoako described Yirenkyi as one of the most humble players in the dressing room, despite his rapid rise and increasing importance to the Danish Superliga side.
Yirenkyi has become a key figure for Nordsjaelland since breaking into the senior team, delivering a string of assured performances that have earned him praise from fans and observers alike. However, Amoako believes it is the midfielder’s mentality, not the attention, that defines him.
“Caleb doesn’t see himself the way we see him,” Amoako told Joy Sports. “He’s a very humble guy and he’s always focused on his work.”
The Ghanaian attacker revealed that while teammates recognise Yirenkyi’s quality, the midfielder remains driven by bigger ambitions rather than personal accolades.
“I always tell him he’s a superstar, but he wants to achieve a lot more,” Amoako added.
During the ongoing 2025/26 season, Yirenkyi has made 21 appearances across all competitions for Nordsjaelland, registering one goal and four assists. His steady development continues to draw attention, with many viewing him as one of Ghana’s promising midfield prospects in Europe.
