CAF Champions League: Medeama SC fail to reach knockout stage after finishing bottom of Group D

Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama Sporting Club have been eliminated from this season’s CAF Champions League competition after failing to advance past the group stage.

The Yellow and Mauve side did well in the preliminaries of the inter-club competition to make it to the group stages.

Unfortunately, the team has not managed to amass enough points in the six games played in Group D.

On Friday, March 1, Medeama Sporting Club faced off with Algerian side CR Belouizdad in the last group game.

Away from home, the Ghanaian champions could not impress and suffered a heavy defeat.

CR Belouizdad cruised to a deserved victory thanks to goals from Abdelraouf Benguit and Leonel Wamba in the first half before a strike from Lamin Jallow killed the game in the second half.

The result means Medeama SC finished bottom in Group D of this season’s CAF Champions League.
