Ghanaian forward Osman Bukari was the star of the night as Austin FC cruised to a 3-1 win over San Jose Earthquakes in their MLS clash at the Q2 Stadium.

The 25-year-old wasted little time making his mark, breaking the deadlock in the 12th minute with a crisp finish into the far corner after being set up by Owen Wolff’s perfectly-timed pass.

Bukari remained central to Austin’s attacking play, orchestrating the move that led to their second goal before the interval.

Exploiting space on the right flank, he delivered a dangerous ball into the box which deflected kindly into the path of Myrto Uzuni, who tapped home for his fourth goal in six matches.

San Jose responded after the break, with Daniel Munie halving the deficit in the 53rd minute.

However, Austin ensured there was no comeback as the Earthquakes conceded a late own goal to seal a comfortable win for the Verde & Black.

Bukari’s lively performance underlined his growing influence in the MLS as Austin continues to build momentum this season.
