Brighton have beaten Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in a two-game weeks span, and Leandro Trossard is the man we are all looking at.
Trossard’s 90th-minute goal snatched a surprise three points for Brighton against Tottenham, as Antonio Conte’s side lost ground in the quest for the top four.
What will concern Conte the most is that the visitors earned their victory despite restricting Spurs’ onslaught and going toe-to-toe with their typically merciless opponents.
The first half was sluggish with hardly any opportunities as Brighton’s press and stability effectively limited Spurs’ play, with the standout moments being Dejan Kulusevski’s flailing arm and numerous late Enock Mwepu challenges that may have had both men sent off.
Chances were few and far between, and despite Spurs’ improvement after the half, Brighton stayed very much in the game.
The second half produced few clear-cut chances, but when Trossard found space in the box with just minutes remaining, he made no mistake in securing a vital result in the fight for the top four.
What’s next?
Spurs head to Brentford, while Brighton travel to league leaders Manchester City on Wednesday.
