The second round of matches in Group G of the 2022 World Cup take place on the 28th of November, including the meeting between Brazil and Switzerland.

Following the first round of matches, Brazil sit top of the group on 3 points, with Switzerland in second place on the same number of points.

Brazil faced a tricky opening fixture against Serbia but came through the match with flying colours. With the score 0-0 at halftime, Brazil came out in the second half and opened the scoring in the 62nd minute.

They doubled their advantage 11 minutes later and more then deserved the victory against a stubborn Serbia team.

That result means Brazil have won each of their last 8 games in all competitions, including friendly matches.

They ended World Cup qualifying with 3 straight victories over Paraguay, Chile, and Bolivia, scoring 4 goals in each of those games and not conceding a goal, which was impressive.

Brazil have been scoring goals for fun in recent matches and including friendly games the Brazilians have netted 28 times in only 8 fixtures at an average of 3.5 goals per game.

Trends show in their last 31 games in all competitions, Brazil have recorded 30 undefeated encounters. They have won 4 of their last 5 matches at the World Cup and have kept a clean sheet in each of those 4 victories.

Switzerland opened their 2022 World Cup campaign with a 1-0 victory over Cameroon. It was Cameroon born striker Breel Embolo who score the only goal of the match shortly after halftime and Switzerland managed to see off the threat of the Cameroon attack for the remainder of the second half.

That win for Switzerland means they have tasted victory in 4 of their last 5 matches. They won each of their final 3 games in the Nations League, beating Portugal, Czech Republic, and Spain, the latter of which was a fine away win. The only defeat in their last 5 fixtures came in a friendly match against Ghana prior to the World Cup.

Trends show Switzerland have not lost in 13 of their last 16 matches in all competitions. The last time they played Brazil competitively was in the 2018 World Cup and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Swiss would be more than happy with the same outcome from this match.

Team news and Brazil have doubts over the fitness of Neymar. If he is unavailable, Gabriel Martinelli, Antony, or Bruno Guimarães could come into the team.

Switzerland have no major injury concerns and could go with the same starting XI from the win over Cameroon.

Both teams know a win would see them take a big step towards the round of 16. Brazil looked impressive against Serbia, while Switzerland could count themselves a little fortunate to beat Cameroon.

Brazil look capable of keeping out the Swiss attack and with the forward options at their own disposal, should score the goals to win this game.
