Coventry City striker Brandon Thomas-Asante has described his Black Stars journey as a proud and deeply personal experience.
The England-born forward made his senior debut for Ghana in July 2024 and has gone on to record seven appearances at international level, finding the net once so far.
For Thomas-Asante, pulling on the Ghana jersey represents more than a footballing decision, but a connection to heritage and identity.
“Representing Ghana is a dream that I’ve held for a long time. It’s more than just football; it’s about family and roots.
When that first call-up came, it was an incredible feeling for me and my parents.
There’s a weight to that jersey because of the legends who have worn it before, players like Asamoah Gyan and Michael Essien so to be part of that history now is a massive honour,” he told PFA.
At club level, the former West Bromwich Albion attacker has enjoyed an impressive campaign with Coventry City.
He has contributed 10 goals and three assists in 17 appearances, underlining his growing influence in attack.
Thomas-Asante is now targeting a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.
