Both Bologna and Atalanta dropped points in their comeback games in Serie A with the Bergamo side set to head on the road to the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium where Thiago Motta’s men are aiming to jump into the top half of the league table.

It has been a topsy-turvy season for Bologna, who now come into this game off the back of a narrow loss to Roma. In fact, they were much the better team at stages in that loss, as they only let in a penalty after six minutes and saw 62% of the ball.

It has been a topsy-turvy season for Bologna, who now come into this game off the back of a narrow loss to Roma. In fact, they were much the better team at stages in that loss, as they only let in a penalty after six minutes and saw 62% of the ball.

Bologna now sit just one point behind Fiorentina in the race to get into the top half of the table, while they are nine points adrift of Atalanta ahead of this one.

Bologna have now managed to concede 26 times in Serie A, which is the most goals conceded after Spezia for those sitting outside of the relegation spots.

They have, however, bagged 20 goals which now puts them as the top scorers in the bottom half of the table alongside Salernitana. In fact, their record of 20 goals means they have netted one more than Roma up in sixth, who, ironically, just beat them.

Motta’s side have still managed to lose seven times in the league and win just five of their own and draw the other four.

No side above them in the table has won fewer and lost more, and it seems as if Bologna are still looking to move on from their terrible start to the season that saw them winless in the first six Serie A games.

As for Atalanta, they had to fight from two goals down away to Spezia in their return to competitive action. It was a hugely underwhelming performance from the Bergamo side, as Rasmus Hojlund scored before a Mario Pasalic equaliser deep into stoppage time.

The result keeps Atalanta in seventh and with a gap of two points to make up now on Roma in sixth.

They are still just five points behind Inter Milan in fourth, so it would be silly to suggest their Champions League dreams are over.

Forebet predicts a draw and under 2.5 goals.
