Black Stars open Seoul preparations ahead of South Korea showdown

The Black Stars resumed work in Seoul on Sunday with their opening training session ahead of the upcoming friendly against South Korea.

Coach Otto Addo led the group through light drills, though preparations were overshadowed by the team’s mounting injury concerns.

Antoine Semenyo and Mohammed Salisu both exited camp earlier in the weekend, returning to their clubs with confirmed ligament injuries.

Semenyo’s issue, a left anterior talo-fibula ligament sprain, forced him off against Japan, while Salisu is recovering from a bilateral medial collateral ligament sprain.

Their absence follows that of Francis Abu, who suffered a fracture in the Japan match.

With only 19 players now available, Addo must make key adjustments before Tuesday’s fixture.

The squad will hold another session at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Monday.

Ghana face South Korea on November 18, 2025, hoping to end the break on a strong note.
