Former Ghana striker Anthony Yeboah has made claims about corruption within the Black Stars’ management, alleging that officials demand payments from players or their agents before considering them for selection.
Speaking to Happy Sports, Yeboah recounted a personal experience that led him to distance himself from the national team setup.
“Players are not called on merit but based on who can pay and that’s a problem. I once recommended a player for the team but the management member requested for money from me,” Yeboah said .
His comments come in the wake of the Black Stars’ disappointing performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ghana has just three points in five games, as they exit the qualifiers after a 1-1 draw against Angola on Friday, November 15, 2024, in Luanda.
The team is set to play their final qualifier against Niger on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
