Ghanaian football legend Ibrahim Sunday has raised concerns over what he perceives as a lack of succession plan for the senior national team.
The Black Stars have come under a lot of criticism following their abysmal performances during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
Ghana finished bottom of Group F with just three points, failing to qualify for the continental showpiece for the first time in 20 years.
The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association after a meeting with head coach Otto Addo last week to review his technical reports is yet to make definite decision on his future.
“The Black Stars is struggling because we didn’t plan for the future. We enjoyed the Black Stars in previous years without putting in place a succession plan. We should have introduced players into the team for the future” Sunday said in a recent interview.
The Black Stars are set to face Chad and Madagascar in March with Otto Addo aiming to become the first coach to qualify the nation to successive World Cup appearances.
