Black Queens open Birmingham camp ahead of England friendly

The Black Queens opened camp in Birmingham on Thursday as preparations began for their high-profile international friendly against the Lionesses of England.

Sixteen players reported on day one, kicking off an important training block under head coach Kim Lars Björkegren. The team held their opening session at Aston Villa’s elite Bodymoor Heath Training Ground, a facility that provided the ideal environment for fitness work, tactical drills, and cohesion-building.

Coach Björkegren led the group through a fluid session focused on ball circulation, quick transitions, and sharpening team chemistry ahead of the test against one of the world’s best women’s teams.

Four additional players are expected to join the squad later tonight, bringing the number to 20 ahead of Friday’s session.
