Ghanaian midfielder Evelyn Badu has completed a permanent move to Canadian Northern Super League side Montreal Roses.

The 23-year-old signs a two-year contract that will keep her at the club until 2028.

Badu makes the switch from Norwegian outfit Molde FK, where she spent the past two seasons developing her European experience.

“Evelyn has a rare combination of technical qualities and high-level experience,” said Montreal Roses Sporting Director Marinette Pichon.

“She has shone on the African continent, she has played in demanding European leagues, and she knows how to score in crucial moments.

“She is an intelligent player who reads the game, creates chances and is able to find the right space for the last pass or finish with precision.

Badu expressed excitement about her new challenge, saying, “Joining the Montreal Roses is an opportunity I’ve been waiting for. Professional women’s soccer in North America is experiencing tremendous growth, and the Northern Super League is part of that movement. Montreal is building something ambitious, and I want to be a part of it. I look forward to contributing on the field and helping this team reach new heights.”

On the international stage, Badu has earned 17 caps and scored 10 goals for Ghana, representing the Black Queens in major competitions, including their bronze medal run at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.
